Wire Art

I've made a few things from wire in the past. Then a while back I found the blog, Sassy Trash. She creates so many wonderful things with wire and metal. I noticed that her vines and leaves are pretty much the same way I fashion mine...only she takes it so-ooooo much farther. I love her work! I had glued paper behind mine and sometimes used beads to add some color. Then I happened on this book by Jennifer Swift. She uses fabric and wire. I love her work also!! Her blog is Art As Usual. Since it is a how-to book, I felt free to use her ideas. Now I would not compare my work to the artwork of these ladies, but here is my latest creation...
I've been wanting to hang a sign in our guest bathroom saying, "birdbath". So I used a section of an old door, some scrapbooking stickers, and started wiring...
After looking at this photo I tweaked the bird's head a little. Now I'm itching to do some more!!

  9. Oh Angela, that is sooo cute! I think it's just as great as any you'd see made by "the pros". I really love your style.

  10. Hey Angela! Well, I would certainly compare your beautiful work to those ladies. Your sign and sweet bird are fabulous. Just too cotton pickin' cute, (sorry, I just couldn't resist).

Thanks for leaving such incouraging words on my blog. You hit the nail on the head about feeling like a slacker. It seems I'm getting so little done and we're in the middle of repainting and things and the excitement in my head and heart have just given way to the pains in my foot, knee and hip. Uuuuggghhh. And I keep saying I'll do a little and quit earlier today and then I go just past that point and am miserable all night. But I'm learning. Thanks for just caring and also sharing.

Hugs and wishes for a happy weekend. Love...Tracy :)
