...a couple of old frames and miscellaneous dishes and bottles. The lady who was in her 80's said the frame hung in her grandmother's house forever, and that she'd been dead for 50 years! Don't you love the stories that come free with these treasures!! This is the best kind of shopping there is...I didn't pay over $1 for anything here. Here are some books I found. Don't you just love old books?
In the Historical Anthology of Music vol. 1, which I bought for the big pages to make things from, I only recognized one piece. They are from ancient, through medieval, and 15th to late 16th century musical compositions. Michael W. Smith wrote modern lyrics a few years ago to Agnus Dei. I think it is beautiful. I found it on Youtube but was unsuccessful when I tried to add the link to this post. If you'd like to hear it, go to Youtube, search for michael w smith-agnus dei and select the version picturing him at the piano.
Great finds and I always love the stories that come with things...it's the best kind of treasure.

You had a good day at the sales. What are you going to do with the bottles? Do you decorate them? I'm going to look that up on Utube. Have fun with your treasures. Diane
ReplyDelete"Little old lady" sales are my favorite, because they're so proud of their treasures, and their prices are always reasonable! Love all of your finds, especially the yellow pottery and the pretty table they're sitting on!

ReplyDeleteI love all your fun finds...especially the wonderful pottery!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love finding treasures that other's might think are junk? I prefer "junque" over new most of the time...unless it's a really good reproduction.
ReplyDeleteYou found some wonderful things. LOVE the little stand with the pottery.
Hugs,
Debbie
