Dreary Day
Flowers can brighten up even the dreariest of days, don't you think? These were in the clippings I bagged after trimming back the shrubs in front of the house. Last night it rained all night with lightning and thunder. I was even awakened once by what sounded like pretty good sized hail pounding on the roof. This morning it is drizzling and very dark. This photo was taken about 9:30 this morning, but looks like late evening. Here's a closer look at the vintage seed packages. They are not dated, but appear quite old. I'm drawn to any vintage gardening things.
They even made the backs of these pretty...Petunias, Four O'Clocks, and Double Lilliput Zinnas.
We really need this rain. I'm thankful for it. I wish you sunshine or rain, whichever you need...and warm temperatures for those of you still waiting for Spring.
Hi Angela! I planted some seeds this spring and I hope that they come up. Those are the cutest seed packets! I love your centerpiece and I do the same thing you do with the flowers in the blue jar. Love it!
Thank you for visiting my blog today and becoming a follower! :) We have 4 days of rain coming our way or so they say! Are those lilacs I spy? Hugs~Ginger
Your vintage seed packets are so charming...I can imagine them as the focal point on a paper banner. Strung across a window, these could add some cheerful sunshine.
I am a homemaker interested in praising God, loving my husband, visiting family, hugging grandchildren, decorating my home, estate sales, garage sales, antique shops, thrift stores, crafting with vintage treasures, my flower beds, and anything vintage.
Love your vintage centerpiece. A very nice way to chase the gloomies away.
ReplyDeleteLove the lilacs and the seed packs. Glad you are getting some rain, we have been, too. Makes it all green and helps it grow!
