I'm like a little bird...always bringing things back to my nest

It's Fall!

This is the first day that feels like Fall around here. It is 66 degrees and drizzling. It rained off and on last night and I am so thankful for every drop! Maybe part of the reason I'm feeling it is that I finally did some Fall decorating. Here's the mantel. It is a little too busy, but I'm constantly tweeking. I love this vintage Rook game card I found in McKinney the other day. I'm always drawn to birds...even crows this time of year.
I've used my little faux pumpkins on the table along with my old faithful paper leaves. I made them 3 years ago.
I haven't run across very many real pumpkins...none that I wanted. I think I'll have to go on mission for the perfect pumpkins! Sounds like fun!!

  1. There are some good pumpkins at Covington's Nursery in Rowlett, Texas. I go every year. I live in Royse City.

  2. I can imagine the rain is a welcome sight for you in Texas.
Your fall decorating all looks so nice. It also reminded me that I purchased a Rook game at the thrift shop last year. I need to go find where I put it :).

  4. I really like your paper leaves and twiggy pumpkins. The vintage Rook crow card is so perfect for October! I'm so glad to see you decorating around your pretty blue and green things, instead of putting those things away. I'll have to check out your past posts for more inspiration... I'm always looking for ways to incorporate the blues and greens I have in my home with the fall and winter holidays.

  5. Pretty fall decorating. I'm glad it's getting cooler and you're getting a little rain, after this hot, hot summer down there. I'm sure it's a real blessing. Diane
