Beautiful Roadside Flowers

Even in this drought, we have such beautiful wildflowers. As some fade and dry up, others spring up and take their place. It's amazing isn't it? I hesitate to call them weeds...that makes them sound annoying and unwelcome. Wouldn't the roadsides be bare and ugly without them? I'm so thankful that the Lord planted them there. They thrive when the ones we try to cultivate have a harder time. I hadn't ever seen these until moving to this area.
The flower is a cluster of very small white circles (no petals) with a green center. They are surrounded by white leaves with a green stripe through the middle. Green and white polka-dots and stripes...wow!! I think they are so unique and beautiful.
I wish I could have gotten better quality pictures. I have a plain old camera and picture me leaning as far over a barb wire fence as I can and zooming in.
Be sure to take time to smell the roses!!! or wildflowers! I'm linking to White Wednesday at Faded Charm, please join us!

  7. I love wildflowers too. And these look very pretty. Hope you are far away from all the wildfires that are burning down there.

  8. What an unusual looking flower. These beauties are minimal yet with a twist (the spiky petals look like mini bursts of fireworks.)
